Hua Shen entered the medical school at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997, and graduated with Distinction in her Masters degree after 7 years study. During this time,she was also an acupuncture adviser for foreign acupuncture students there. In the following years she worked in the Shanghai Tongji University Hospital as a qualified doctor, where she treated a wide variety of conditions using the techniques used in the hospitals in China.
Since 2005, Hua Shen has worked in UK private clinics and gained extensive experience of treating a wide range of conditions, using acupuncture, acupressure and cupping
What makes her skill unique in the West Midlands is that she has both Chinese acupuncture education and experience as well as full membership of the British Acupuncture Council( BAcC), the governing body for professional acupuncturists in the UK. She is also listed in the NHS directory of complementary and alternative therapists.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council she complies with current UK health and safety legislation and the BAcC’s Codes of Safe Practice and Codes of Professional Conduct and she is fully insured.
Hua treats patients holistically, because each patient is unique and will react differently to treatment. She tries to make her acupuncture sessions as relaxing as possible. It has been known for some of her patients to fall asleep during treatment!
